The People Who Approved These Ads Have A Lot Of Explaining To Do
I’m pretty sure the people who create advertisements are robots, because I’d rather not think about the type of person you’d have to be to decide that any of these were good ideas.

Do You Notice Anything Different About This Toy Catalog? Because Kids Do. Toys “R” Us officially moved up a few notches in the eyes of progressives by challenging the gender stereotypes that have lined its pages for years. The Swedish version of the toy store did at least. I definitely like the idea of letting kids choose what they want to identify with instead of having it spelled out for them. I really hope this catches on. See more pages here.

The District of Columbia government Thursday will launching a campaign that advocates say is a first of its kind: A series of ads “promoting respect for the District’s transgender and gender-non-conforming communities.” One of the ads features Kisha, a trans woman who lives in D.C. The ad quotes Kisha, saying, “I love wandering through Smithsonian museums, eating on H Street with friends, and going to shows at Howard Theatre.” Then, the aim of the campaign: “I’m a transgender woman and I’m part of DC. Please treat me the way any woman would want to be treated: with courtesy and respect.” The posters — which the D.C. Office of Human Rights has been sparking interest about on Facebook — then note that discrimination based on gender identity and expression is illegal in the District of Columbia and provide a website and phone number for more information. - Dickhead asshole Islamophobe takes out (Constitutionally-protected! We guess) anti-Muslim ads, which call Muslims “savages,” on San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s vehicles;
- San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency puts up its own ads, with arrows pointing to dickhead asshole Islamophobe’s ads and reading “SFMTA policy prohibits discrimination based on national origin, religion and other characteristics, and condemns statements that describe any group as ‘savages.’”
- Bravo, SFMTA, and Pamela Geller can fuck right off.
