Here’s How Much It Costs To Block A Bill That 91% Of Americans Support
There’s nothing a little (or huge) campaign donation can’t make you forget about, right? Even that pesky thing called American safety.

Australia Is An Example Of Effective Gun Control. America Is An Example Of Ignoring Australia.
The similarities between Australia and America are pretty striking. The enormous difference, however, is the distinct lack of pro-gun special-interest power in the Australian government. If that blows your mind, check this out: Australian gun control was enacted by conservative politicians against the will of their conservative constituency. If Australian politicians can overlook a powerful minority to pass something that a nationwide majority approves of, why can’t our own suits and ties do it too?

Maybe When This Gun Control Opponent Watches The Footage, He'll Realize How Bad His Arguments Were

Not The Onion:
The news that a 5-year-old had shot and killed his 2-year-old sister sparked a storm of outrage Wednesday, and much of the ire was directed at the fact that he used a .22-caliber rifle manufactured by Crickett, an arm of Keystone Sporting Arms that designs weapons specifically for children. The 5-year-old’s gun—which had been given to him as a birthday present—was marketed with the tagline “My first rifle.” Crickett’s website featured not just a friendly, cartoonish green insect as the company logo, but photos of young children cradling their weapons.
Read more about the guns marketed to children. (Emphasis in above quote ours.)

You Know What The Founding Fathers Said About Your Right To Bear Arms? This.
TRIGGER WARNING: This video has a disturbing moment of graphic violence where nobody gets hurt. However, it makes a very thought-provoking and important point. I know that not everyone agrees with banning assault weapons (I’m pretty sure it will never realistically happen anyways), but I also know the Founding Fathers had a very different perspective than we do. No matter where you stand, a standardized universal background check system could make sure we were all accountable to each other. We won’t know until we actually try it.

Meanwhile, the Senate defeated proposed legislation to expand background checks for gun buyers, 54-46. Guaranteed that the NRA was all too happy to have recent events provide cover for the cowardly politicians securely in their back pockets.
The Senate rejected a bipartisan deal to expand gun background checks, as it began voting on a host of amendments to a measure aimed at curbing gun violence.
